Weekly Updates

A HIGHER JOY

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing amazing! This week I hit 11 months in the mission! Time is just flying by! It is actually wild! Here are a few highlights from the past week!!

• ❧Saw some big blessings as we were trying to find a part member family here in our area! They are a family of four with the cutest two little girls! As we were leaving one of the girls ran up to us and gifted us a potted flower plant from her garden! Definitely a highlight from the week!!
• ❧Our miracle friend Sofia came to church! She is 16 years old and is just the best! She has such big desire to come closer to Christ! We went to young womens class with her and it was SO fun!!
• ❧Took a collectivo up to explore a new little town called General Delgado! Lots of people were super welcoming and receptive! It was a really cool experience!!
• ❧It was pretty rainy this week but Sunday morning was super warm and sunny! It was a huge miracle! And it reminded me of the Conference Talk from President Nelson titled “The Sabbath is a Delight”. So grateful for Sundays!

New Character Added: Sofia — Our miracle friend Sofia, 16 years old, who came to church and has a big desire to come closer to Christ.

SMALL & SIMPLE THINGS

Haupei!

Good morning everyone! Hope you are all doing great! This week was transfers! It was super crazy but full of soo many miracles! Here are a few of the highlights!!

• ❧A couple weeks ago Hermana Barney and I met these two teenage boys who were super nice and gave us oranges to eat. Afterwards we could never find them again. The other day we were walking and decided to turn left and the first house we clapped at was one of the teenagers!! He gave us more oranges and we were able to have an amazing lesson! Super huge miracle right there!!
• ❧One of my favorite lessons this week was with our friend Alberto! Brother Paiva and his two daughters were able to be in the lesson with us and the Spirit was SOO strong!! It was so awesome!
• ❧The Paivas came with us to visit another friend, Silvina, who doesn’t speak much Spanish! They were able to invite her to church in Guarani! I love hearing the Gospel spread all different languages!! It is SO cool!
• ❧Had the most hectic but fun Plan of Salvation lesson with our convert Nahiara and her cute cousins!! Definitely a favorite part of the week!
• ❧Had a huge miracle lesson with one of our inactive members here! We have been trying to meet with her for the past 10 weeks but she’s been super busy. It was so fun to get to know her story! We talked about how Jesus Christ is our rest not our burden. The Spirit was so sweet!!!
• ❧Worked in the city part of Encarnación with Hermana Job for two days and it was a blast! We met so many really awesome people!
• ❧The weather was SO wild this week! One night while we were working it was so windy that all the power in Coronel Bogado went out! It was so dark but the stars were amazing!!

New Character Added: Alberto — A friend with whom she had one of her favorite lessons this week.

New Character Added: Silvina — Another friend, visited with the Paivas, who doesn’t speak much Spanish.

New Character Added: Nahiara — Their convert, with whom she had a hectic but fun Plan of Salvation lesson along with her cute cousins.

New Character Added: Brother Paiva — A member whose two daughters joined the lesson with Alberto and who later came with them to visit Silvina.

New Character Added: Hermana Job — A missionary she worked with for two days in the city part of Encarnación.

Haupei! Good Morning!! Hope you all are doing super awesome!! This week was so wild down here! Here are a few of the highlights!

• ❧Zone Conference and interviews!! Learned a lot about how to work more effectively!! And we talked a lot about becoming excellent missionaries! God doesn’t ask us to practice perfection but He does ask us to practice excellence. And as we strive to pay attention to the details and get a little better each day we can become excellent disciples of Jesus Christ!!
• ❧Last divisions with my trainer Hermana Whitesides!! Had the best time and learned a lot! Super grateful for her and her example to me!! The time flies by so fast!!
• ❧The Lord led us to some really awesome people this week!! We had an impression to clap at a house and these two teenage girls answered. We talked about baptism and why it’s important in our lives when the mom came walking out. She told us that her daughter has never been baptized and asked if we could help! Literally such a big miracle!!!
• ❧Our miracle friend Alberto came to church yesterday!! On Saturday we were walking in the streets and walked past a house with a guy outside peeling oranges. He called us over and asked if we would like some. We sat down with him for a couple minutes and then had a little lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Halfway through Sacrament meeting he walked through the doors!!! After 2 transfers of having a hard time getting friends to church this was the biggest miracle!!!!
• ❧And this week President Calderwood took some missionaries to play tennis down here in Encarnación and it was SO much fun!!

New Character Added: Alberto — A man they met peeling oranges outside his house who they had a lesson with, and who came to church the next day as a big miracle.

YESTERDAY, TODAY & FOREVER

Haupei! Happy Monday! Hope you are all doing well!!! And had an amazing fourth of July!! The work was little bit slower here but I’m just super thankful to be in Coronel Bogado! Here are a couple highlights from this past week!

• ❧On Monday Paraguay played Germany in the world cup and won! We were out working when a family invited us in to watch the game! Crazy win and the town was going crazy afterwards!! There was a huge caravan on main street which was so fun! And even though people were yelling at us for being “Germans” it was a great night to be in Paraguay!!!
• ❧Saturday night Paraguay played against France! The Paiva family invited us and the Elders over to watch the game! Even though they lost it was SO much fun to watch! Rohayu Paraguay forever!!
• ❧Super fun P-day with the zone! We played paddle, ate super yummy pizza hut and then played a little bit of pickup basketball!!
• ❧Had a really amazing fast & testimony yesterday! And an amazing Sunday School lesson about becoming stronger through our trials! The members are SO incredible here and have blessed my life so much! Really grateful for the chance I have to serve with such amazing people!!

New Character Added: The Paiva family — A family who invited Hermana McCoy and the Elders over to watch the Paraguay vs France World Cup game.

WORK & GLORY

Haupei! Good Morning!! Hope you guys are all doing amazing! This week just flew by down here! Here are some highlights from the last couple of days!

• ❧Had branch conference yesterday!! All the members from Ita Paso came up and it was so awesome to see the church building so full! Hermana Barney and I were also able to attend the young women’s class which was super fun!
• ❧Lots of miracles with finding this week! A couple Sundays ago on the walk to church this guy came up to us and we started talking and ended up getting his phone number. Flash forward to this week the Elders sent us over a reference for a lady. The address ended up being wrong but we clapped at that house anyway. The guy, Ivan, from a couple Sundays ago came to the fence with the biggest smile! Such a big miracle!! His family are some of the nicest people ever! We were able to have some really great lessons with him these last couple days!
• ❧One of my favorite lessons from this past week was with our friend Leydi and her daughter Jasmine! We had felt impressed to teach them about the Plan of Salvation and before even getting into it, Leydi asked with tears in her eyes if we believe in a resurrection and how we know… the Spirit was SO strong!!! I’m so grateful for the knowledge that there is a lot more than just this life! Because of Jesus Christ’s Atoning Sacrifice, all of us will be resurrected. And we can all have the opportunity to live with our families, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for the eternities 🤍
• ❧Hit 10 months in the mission! Actually so wild!! The time is flying by SO fast!! Rohayu Paraguay forever!!

THE COMFORTER

Haupei! Happy Monday! Hope you are all doing super well! This first week of the transfer has been super wild full of lots of tender mercies, miracles and divine protection!! Here are a few of the highlights!!

• ❧This week in our ward meeting we found out that our inactive member friend, Oscar, did not actually have any records of his baptism. He was baptized a long time ago and didn’t have any pictures or anything. So he needed to be baptized again… crazy experience but super amazing! He is awesome and has such a strong desire to follow the Savior! His baptism was really special and an amazing reminder that none of Christ’s sheep are lost to Him!!
• ❧During cambios Hermana Barney and I were in a trio with Hermana Whitesides for a little bit! It was SO much fun! It was super awesome being able to work in a new area in Encarnación for a little while and meet so many really amazing people! We saw lots of miracles and lots of spirit filled lessons!
• ❧This week the Lord led us to a lot of really amazing people!! One of my most favorite lessons of the week was with our friends Aide and Luana, a mom and her daughter. We talked about why baptism in the same way as Jesus Christ is so important and the blessings that come from it. The Spirit was so strong!! The Gospel of Jesus Christ really does just bless families SO much!!
• ❧Hermana Barney and I were walking in the streets Saturday night when a huge dog with a big metal chain came charging at us. He was going in to bite when all of a sudden he stopped and turned around… huge miracle!! Definitely some divine intervention right there!!

BOUNDED TO GOD

Mba’éichapa!! How’s it going? Hope you are all doing well!! This week has been really good here full of lots of miracles and tender mercies! Here are a couple of the highlights!

• ❧We’ve been really trying to work a lot with the inactive members and the other night we clapped at an inactive member house. The mom answered and told us she was too busy so we left and continued to walk a little bit further. Then it started downpouring REALLY hard. She waved us back and invited us inside her house. Huge miracle! We ended up having a super awesome family home evening! Their family is amazing! She even ended up joining the zoom call for Sacrament meeting!! Super grateful for that big rainstorm!
• ❧Divisions with my trainer Hermana Whitesides! Had so much fun and learned so much!! We worked up in the little town called Kuruñai and met some amazing people! However, Kuruñai is kinda in the middle of nowhere (4 hr walk and a 20 min bus ride on the route). The members’ car had broken down, it was getting late and we were a little stranded. But God answers prayers!! A bus passed and we were able to make it home before curfew! Such a big miracle!
• ❧Hermana Barney and I were walking home one night when this guy stopped us and asked if we could share a scripture verse with him. We gave him a Book of Mormon. And before we even brought it up, he mentioned that he had never been baptized and wants to be saved. Come to find out, he is the uncle of one of the recent converts here in Coronel Bogado! Crazy big miracle! So thankful that God put Him in our path!
• ❧Sunday morning we were sitting in Sacrament meeting when our phone starting buzzing, an inactive member, named Oscar was calling to let us know that he was outside trying to find the church building! Missionaries have been trying to get him back to church for months… it was incredible to finally see him in church again!!! Such a big blessing!!!

TRUST IN HIM

Haupei! Hope you are all doing great! It’s been another good week here in Coronel Bogado! Here are a few of the highlights!

• ❧Hermana Barney and I explored a new little town called Kuruñai! It’s about a 20 minute bus ride with tons of fields and cows! And it was incredible! We had just sat down for a lesson when this guy walks into the yard greeting us in english! Turns out he is from Argentina and his wife is from West Jordan Utah! So wild! Definitely no coincidences in the Lord’s timing!!
• ❧We were up in Kuruñai working during lunch time and some members last minute invited us over for some really yummy food!! It felt a little bit like our own Alma and Amulek story! Super grateful for the amazing members here who do SO much for the missionaries!!
• ❧Church was super amazing yesterday!! The Spirit was SO strong in fast & testimony meeting!! And the Elders had the baptism of their friend Lider! He is super awesome and it was super special to see him make His first covenant with God!
• ❧It was really amazing to see the Lord working in the details this week! There were many times where we were sitting talking to people and then all of a sudden more people would just come over! It’s incredible to see that this really is the Lord’s work and His plan is perfect!
• ❧This past week we’ve had the opportunity to go try and visit a lot of inactive members here in Coronel Bogado. A scripture that keeps coming to mind is D&C 18:10 which says “remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God”. God is in relentless pursuit of ALL of His children for each of them is dear to Him!
• ❧I haven’t really written about this in my emails but just about every transfer of the mission my fake tooth has fallen out. It’s in the front of my mouth and very obvious. I’m currently on day 4 of prosyleting without it… a little bit unfortunate but it helps me fit in a bit more and gives us a good laugh!

A PILLAR OF LIGHT

Haupei! Happy Monday! Hope you guys are all doing well! This week was really good and flew by so fast! Here are a couple highlights!

• ❧The Lord led us to some really awesome new friends! It’s been super fun getting to know them and teaching them how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless their lives!
• ❧We have a really amazing family in our ward who is such a big help for missionary work! This week we were able to go prosyleting with their teenage daughters and it was so fun! The members are such a big blessing here!
• ❧Had the best Zone Conference with SO many amazing takeaways! Hermana Calderwood shared her conversion story which was super powerful. As a missionary you never know what seeds you are planting! There was a big focus on the Restoration which was super special! I am SO thankful for the Restored Gospel and all the blessings that come with it. And we learned so much about how to work in the Lord’s way… the importance of listening and teaching with Christ-like love and improving our prayers to recieve revelation from God! Super awesome spiritual boost for the week!

GOD OF MIRACLES

Haupei! Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well!! And had an awesome weekend! This week was really good full of lots of tender mercies! Here are a few of the highlights!!

• ❧The Lord led us to some really amazing people this week! It was super cool how the Lord prepared people to hear the Gospel. One lady shared how she has been on the search for a church here but just hasn’t found the right one yet. When we gave her a Book of Mormon she asked if she could read a little bit right then… the Spirit was SO strong as she was reading! Another guy was super willing to talk to us and his mom showed up with a Book of Mormon from past missionaries with the verses already marked about baptism. Super special lessons!
• ❧The members here in Coronel Bogado are some of the best people ever!! There is a family who loves to help with missionary work a lot and their daughter is thinking about serving, she’s been able to go out and prosylete with us and it has been really amazing! The Spirit has been so strong in the lessons!
• ❧Had Sacrament Meeting in San Pedro again this Sunday! Super special to see these members gather in a little unused home to renew their covenants with God!
• ❧Hit 9 months in the mission… halfway!! So crazy! The time is FLYING by so fast! These past 9 months have been the biggest blessing and I am so stoked for this second half!!
• ❧Had lots of nights this week with amazing starry skies! Saw some cool constellations and even saw a shooting star! All evidence of a loving Heavenly Father!

UNSHAKEN IN CHRIST

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you are all doing awesome! Things are going well down here!!! Here are a few of the highlights from the past week!

• ❧Coronel Bogado had a super huge Paraguay independence parade on main street! Everyone in town came to celebrate! Super fun to watch for a little bit! I love Paraguay!!
• ❧Divisions with Hermana Nazar from Argentina! Had an awesome time! Learned a lot and had some really spiritual lessons with some people the Lord led us to!
• ❧This week we were really focusing on getting friends to church. We fasted Saturday night to have people at church. Sunday morning we passed by our friends’ houses to pick them up and nobody could come! We ended up being late to church with no friends… and then about halfway through Sacrament meeting a random boy showed up! He heard someone was getting baptized and the Elders invited him into the building! Turns out he lives in our area! Literal miracle!!! Fasting works. And when you do your best, God will do the rest.
• ❧Two Saturdays ago we met these two really awesome kids, Nancy and Ramon. We haven’t been able to find them since, as they actually live at their dad’s house. With the help of the Lord, we were able to find them at their dad’s house! Such a big tender mercy!!!
• ❧The Elders of Coronel Bogado had three baptisms yesterday!! The Spirit was super strong!! Such a great Sunday!

NOT LOST TO GOD

Happy Monday! Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well! This past week was amazing! We had transfers and Hermana Barney and I are down here in a little town called Coronel Bogado!! It’s a little bit like Radiator Springs from the Cars Movie and it is the best!! A couple months ago there was a group that was started here and they were meeting in someone’s house. Now the group has a little storefront building for the church meeting and are on their way to becoming a branch! It is incredible and I’m SO grateful to be here! The Lord is hastening His work so much here in Paraguay!! Here are a few of the highlights from the week!

• ❧Saw a lot of my cute mission friends in the office for transfers this week! So grateful for all of them!
• ❧Went to the Asunción temple with all the new missionaries! So fun! If you have time this week I would definitely invite you to go to the temple! Nothing compares to the peace we can feel inside!!
• ❧Took a long collectivo ride down to Coronel Bogado which was super fun but we got in really late in a huge rainstorm. The nicest member and her fíance were waiting for us at the bus stop!! It was such a big blessing! The members here are amazing!!
• ❧Saw lots of miracles as the Lord helped us find people to teach!! There are so many amazing people here!
• ❧Played sand volleyball at the beach in Encarnación that borders Argentina!!
• ❧There is an even smaller town that is about an hour outside of Coronel Bogado. There are about 6 members that live up there. Yesterday evening we were able to go up with the Elders and some members in the ward to do a tiny Sacrament service in a home. It was so special!! The Spirit was SO strong!

BE NOT DISMAYED

Haupei! Hi everyone! How’s it going? Hope you guys are all doing so well!! So crazy it’s already May!! Where is all the time flying?? Here a few updates from the week!

• ❧Had a super fun Noche de Hogar with the Bordon family!! They showed us how to make tortilla and cocido!! So thankful for all the members here!
• ❧Saw lots of little miracles as we were trying to find some new friends this week!!!
• ❧Had the sweetest Plan of Salvation lesson with our cute friend Milkar and his little cousins! After the lesson one of the little girls asked if she’ll get to live with her uncle again! I’m so thankful for the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and that families can be together forever!
• ❧Hermana Jensen and I were craving some bollo (a yummy Paraguayan desert that is like a glazed donut filled with dulce de leche) and after a little prayer, both a bollo motorcycle and truck came driving by! God is so good all the time!
• ❧Had an awesome district council where we learned how terere (the BEST drink here) is like the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
• ❧Transfer News!!! This week I’m headed off to open a little area called Coronel Bogado and starting the training of Hermana Barney!! Super excited for this new adventure! These past 4.5 months in Villa Elisa have changed my life forever!! I am forever grateful for the converts and members here that have blessed my mission SO much! I have seen evidence after evidence here in Villa Elisa that we have a loving God and a living Savior! Villa Elisa will always hold a really special spot in my missionary heart 🪾🏼🪾🏼

SCRIPTURE POWER

Mba’éichapa!! How’s it going? Hope you are all doing well and had a great week!! This week was good here in Villa Elisa! Here are a few of the highlights!!!

• ❧Hermana Jensen and I taught our first English class here in Villa Elisa! It was lots of fun and we had a good turnout!!
• ❧Played a super fun soccer game with some of the ward kids during noche de barrio!!
• ❧A couple weeks ago we had a cute little friend named Milkar who is 9 nine years old. We had to stop teaching him because every weekend he would go to his grandma’s house who lived far away. Yesterday at church, Milkar and his little sister Mariza (who is 6 years old) randomly showed up at church!!! It was literally such a huge miracle!!!
• ❧Had divisions with Hermana Martinez in Villa Anita!! It was so much fun! Learned a lot from her and was able to meet their awesome friends!
• ❧Hit 8 months in the mission!! Celebrated with yummy acai and pizza hut! Time is flying by soo fast!
• ❧As we were walking home on Saturday night we randomly ran into one of our old friends on the street. The first thing he said was something along the lines of “see there are no coincidences”. Definitely the hand of the Lord right there!!!
• ❧Had the best lesson with our cute converts Kimberly, Jhoaum, Milena and Liz! At the end of the lesson Kimberly asked if we could all sing “Gethsemnae” together! The Spirit was SO strong!! It was so special! I love those guys so much!!

OUR REFUGE

Hola hola! Buen día! Happy Monday everyone! Hope you are all doing awesome!!! This week was pretty good here in Villa Elisa! Here are a couple of the highlights!

• ❧Our friend Lucas came to church yesterday!! He walked all the way by himself and the members were so welcoming! He told us that he reads his Book of Mormon a ton every day and just loves it! He is SO awesome!
• ❧A dog from the street came prosyleting with us for three hours haha. He stayed with us as we clapped doors and even wanted to sit in the lessons. He followed us to McDonald’s for lunch and sat outside whining as we were eating. It was quite the adventure trying to get him back to the street where we picked him up haha!
• ❧Villa Elisa has a ton of inactive members so this week we’ve really been trying to visit all of them! It has been super special to get to know them and hear about their stories!

JESUS IS REAL TO ME

Haupei!! Happy Monday! Hope you guys are all doing great! Here’s a quick little recap of the weekend here in Paraguay!!

• ❧This past couple days I’ve seen God so much through people we’ve been meeting! It’s been amazing to see how the Lord prepares people to recieve the Gospel. The hermanas in the area next to ours referenced their bolt driver over to us. And he is a huge miracle! His name is Ivan and he has such a big desire to know that this is all true. He has been reading his Book of Mormon everyday and even listening to it while he works out!!
• ❧Another miracle this weekend is our friend Lucas! Lucas is 17 years old and told us the Catholic Church just isn’t working for him anymore. He feels like doors have been closing and is looking for a new path. During our lesson, he had so many amazing questions! He looked down at his Book of Mormon and said he thinks this is the answer… so special!!
• ❧Played basketball with some of the members and other missionaries! Lots of fun!
• ❧Our district went on a little hike in Cerro Ñemby!! Basically a hike around a little green lake! Super cool!
• ❧The past couple days have been a little rainy and cold but the Paraguayans have been taking such good care of us with lots of yummy warm food and drinks! The people here are seriously some of the nicest people in the world!
• ❧On Saturday we were able to visit a lot of the recent converts here in Villa Elisa! The people here have been some of the biggest blessings in my mission! Through them I’ve learned so much and have felt the Savior’s love! The Gospel of Jesus Christ really does change lives!!

TETHERED TO CHRIST

Haupei! Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you are all doing awesome! Our Pday got moved so we could go to the Asunción temple today!! Here a couple highlights from the past little while!

• ❧Had interviews with Presidente Calderwood! So grateful for all the awesome leaders we have here in the mission!!
• ❧Made yummy pina coladas with our district and played some waterballoon volleyball!!!
• ❧Had an amazing Zone Conference! Learned a lot about how to become a more consecrated servant of the Lord and applying the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives everyday! And it was super fun to see all my mission friends!!
• ❧General Conference!! So many good talks! We were able to watch with some of our amazing converts here! It was also super special to stand for the solemn assembly to sustain our prophet Dallin H Oaks!!
• ❧We were also able to watch a little bit of Conference with a really inactive member in the ward! She hasn’t been able to come to church for a really long time and it was really special to watch Conference and feel the Spirit with her!
• ❧Easter as a missionary was amazing! And it was so cool to see all the different ways people celebrate Holy Week here! Everyone makes a TON of chipa and cocida… some traditional Paraguayan food!
• ❧Divisions with the Hermana Hernandez!! Had so much fun working in Villa Anita for the day! She is so awesome and I learned a lot from her! It was also so cool to see the Spirit leading us to people who are so ready for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! And nobody got bit by a dog this time around so that was a huge win!
• ❧Temple trip!! So nice to visit the temple today! I’m so grateful for the temples and the peace that comes with them! Also met a temple worker from Logan Utah! Yay Aggies!! 🤘🏻🐮

MY BEST FRIEND JESUS CHRIST

Haupei!! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are all doing great!! This week flew by so fast! Here are a couple of the highlights!!

• ❧Lots of lessons with our cute friend Milkar and his sister! They are seriously the sweetest kids ever! Please keep Milkar in your prayers as he is preparing for his baptism soon!!
• ❧Had a super awesome combined Sacrament Meeting with one of the neighboring wards! It was so fun seeing everybody together and celebrating Palm Sunday! All of the primary kids sang “Gethsemnae” and the Spirit was so strong!
• ❧This week was pretty hot here and one day Hermana Jensen and I were sitting on the curb eating empanadas when a guy dropped off a big bottle of cold water and 2 cups! Don’t know where he came from or where he went but God was definitely looking out for us!!
• ❧The Lord led us to some really awesome people! One of my favorite lessons this week was with a cute lady named Sonia! We taught Sonia a couple months ago but she wasn’t really progressing. This week we went to visit her again and invite her to the Easter Program on Sunday! She is so awesome and still keeps her Book of Mormon by her bedside! This made me so happy!
• ❧Had a super fun District/Zone Council this week! Learned a lot about missionary work and it was so fun to see everyone! I’m so thankful for all the missionaries here!

MORTALITY WORKS

Haupei! Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing great! This week was filled with lots of little tender mercies! Here are a few of the highlights!!

• ❧Got to see some of our friends and converts in the big parade this past week!! Super fun!! I love Paraguay SO SO much!!
• ❧Had some really awesome lessons with our cute little convert friends! Kimberly had soo many good questions this week about the temple! This made my missionary heart so happy and we are hoping to help get them to the temple soon for the first time!!
• ❧Had a super fun Pday as a zone!! We cooked up some yummy crepes and played some games at the church! Super grateful for all the missionaries here in Zone 2!
• ❧Our cute little friend Mia started finding some friends that want to attend church with her! Super awesome! She has such a big desire to follow Christ and is already a missionary!
• ❧We’ve been struggling to find our recent convert Evelio since he’s been traveling and working a lot but this week we randomly found him in the street!!! Such a miracle!
• ❧This little girl named Mia drew me and Hermana Jensen (pictured down below)!! She was also so stoked that we had the same color hair and eyes haha that made my day!!
• ❧A cute grandma gave us a nice little Bible at an empanada shop!! She was so sweet!!!

Haupei! Good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well! This past week was full of lots of miracles and tender mercies! Here are a few of the highlights!

• ❧The Lord led us to a really awesome girl named Mia! She is 14 years old, so smart and really wants to learn more about the Gospel! Also there are no coincidences in the Lord’s work because she used to be elementary school best friends with one of the recent converts here in Villa Elisa! Huge miracle!!
• ❧Went on divisions with my trainer Hermana Whitesides!! I learned so much from her and the Lord led us to so many amazing people!! Super grateful for her and her example!
• ❧This past week we found a point on our missionary application of a little boy named Milkar. Literally the first time we saw this point. Turns out his birthday was the next day and is now old enough to be baptized!! He is super cute and is so excited every time we pass by his house. Definitely the hand of the Lord there!!
• ❧Had Pday de Zona where we played some volleyball and football! Super fun to get together with all the other missionaries!
• ❧The Lord also led us to two really awesome friends, Norma and Jonathan, an aunt and nephew! They are super receptive to the Gospel and just super awesome! Also the hand of the Lord because they are relatives of two recent converts here in Villa Elisa!

WATER INTO WINE

Buen día! Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all are doing awesome!!! The work was a little slow here in Villa Elisa but I’m so grateful for all the ways the Lord showed up for us this week!! Here are a few of the highlights of the week!

• ❧Had Zone Conference!! Learned a lot about love, the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Redemption! Super great spiritual boost for the week!! And it was super awesome to see all my fun missionary friends!
• ❧On Friday night we were sprinting back to our apartment and without noticing somewhere along the way my wallet fell out of my bag! Just a couple minutes later a guy and a lady came knocking at our door with my wallet! God was definitely looking out for Hermana McCoy there!!
• ❧Yesterday we were caught in a really crazy rainstorm and a lady let us inside to warm up! She was super kind and told us she is super cautious about letting people in her house but saw that we were missionaries! God always watches us but He usually takes care of us through other people!
• ❧This weekend the Lord led so many people to us! We were really struggling to find people earlier in the week but the last couple of days we recieved several social media references and many people recieving us in the streets! That was a huge miracle and a big testament that this is the Lord’s work!!

HAPPY MARCH

Haupei! Happy March everyone!!! I hope you guys are all doing well!! This week was really good here in Villa Elisa full of lots of tender mercies! Here are a few of the highlights!

• ❧Ahnia, the older sister of our converts Jhoaum and Kimberly, set her own baptism date for this upcoming Sunday! Huge miracle! Anhia is really awesome! Super excited for her!!!
• ❧Went on divisions with Hermana Hernandez from El Salvador!! We had the best time and was able to learn so much from her!
• ❧Found an amazing inactive member in our area named Juana. Juana was baptized in Argentina about fifteen years ago but hasn’t really been active since moving here to Paraguay. She has three little boys now and told us that she just wants to know that this is all true. It has been amazing meeting with her the last couple days and learning so much together!
• ❧Had an awesome fast and testimony meeting in our ward here! Everyone was so quick to get up and share their testimonies! The Spirit was so strong and I’m so grateful for all the members here!
• ❧Hit 6 months as a missionary!! These past 6 months have changed my life forever and I’m so stoked to see what the next year brings!!!

MIRACLES IN VILLA ELISA

Haupei!! Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all are doing awesome! So crazy that it’s almost March… where is the time going?? This past week was really good full of so many miracles!!! There were so many moments that reminded me that missionary work is all in the hands of the Lord!

• ❧The Lord blessed Villa Elisa with 2 surprise baptisms!! Our friends Jhoaum and Kimberly are 10 and 11 years old. Their sisters were baptized back in November but the mom didn’t give permission for Jhoaum and Kimberly. On Monday we went to their house and read 3 Nephi together from the Book of Mormon picture book. Then we talked about how Jesus Christ taught about how we need to be baptized just like Him. The Spirit was SO strong in the lesson. Afterwards, Jhoaum and Kimberly were still a little hesitant because they were worried they didn’t know enough and their mom would say no again. On Wednesday we talked about baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Probably one of the most spiritual lessons in my mission. After the lesson Jhoaum and Kimberly decided that they wanted to be baptized this upcoming Sunday. That afternoon they talked to their mom about giving permission for their baptisms. And she said yes! Seriously one of the best missionary moments!! We were all celebrating! Their Baptism day yesterday was so so special!
• ❧As we were getting ready to walk to our ward family home evening the Lord led us to a house on the border of our area! We had a lesson with four of the kids and we were able to put a baptism date with all of them! In the following lesson we were able to meet the mom and she was super receptive to being baptized as well! This family is really amazing!!
• ❧This week we had a lot of lessons with a group of neighborhood boys! They are super goofy and fun to teach. But one morning we passed by and had a lesson with just two of the brothers. We taught the Restoration and the Spirit was SO strong! Definitely one of my favorite lessons by far! Both of the brothers read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it that night! Such a special experience!
