Week of Sep 28, 2026 — La Floresta, Paraguay

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing great! And had an awesome weekend! Here are a few highlights from the weekend here in La Floresta!

• Temple day Thursday!! It was SO nice to visit the temple this past week! I’m so thankful for the temple and how close we can feel to our Heavenly Father!
• Pday with Hermana Calderwood! Hermana Calderwood took our district on a little field trip to a soccer museum in Asunción! So much fun and learned a lot about all the different teams! Vamos Sudamérica!
• Big miracles in la capilla! Saturday we were trying so hard to make church plans with all of the converts and friends but everything was just kinda falling through. Sunday morning we were a little bummed with no friends at church, then when the Sacrament meeting finished a couple came up to us and introduced themselves!! They were a reference from some elders in another zone that were super interested but that we dropped a couple weeks ago since we couldn’t ever find them! They came to church and LOVED it!! It was such a huge miracle! Lots of the converts ended up coming and it was just such a blessed Sacrament meeting!! God is good all the time!!
• Super fun Sunday lunch with the Muchuca grandparents! They had so many stories about how the church has grown here in Paraguay! For a long time the closest temple was in São Paulo Brazil, they traveled super far so they could be sealed in the temple. And even stayed up there a little longer so they could help translate to Spanish for other families traveling in! They shared lots of stories about the miracles when the Asunción temple was being built and when the prophet came here to visit! The members here are just so incredible! I love them so much!

New Character Added: Hermana Calderwood — A missionary who took their district on a field trip to a soccer museum in Asunción on Pday.

New Character Added: Muchuca grandparents — A couple who shared stories with the missionaries during Sunday lunch about the growth of the church in Paraguay, including traveling to the São Paulo temple before the Asunción temple was built.

Spiritual Thought

This transfer we’ve been reading the book of Matthew as a mission. And every page is FULL of Christ’s miracles. He walked on water, healed the sick, and raised the dead. He turned water into wine and doubters into believers.

In the Book of Mormon, in Moroni 7:27 we read “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven, and hath sat down on the right hand of God, to claim of the Father his rights of mercy which he hath upon the children of men?”

And verse 29 continues saying “And because he hath done this, my beloved brethren, have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay; neither have angels ceased to minister unto the children of men”.

The miracles of Jesus Christ did not end with the New Testament or The Book of Mormon! The Heavens are open!! Jesus Christ is waiting with arms open to heal and change lives. Miracles are all around us! Maybe they aren’t always in the time we want or the way we expect but they do come!
